Good morning all,
Today marks a new beginning.
With my time at Rivals coming to a close, effective July 1, 2025, I will be launching an independent site — Duck Sports Central. This is more than just a move; it’s a return to our roots, built around the same shared values and vision that brought this community together in the first place.
We’ve created our own free fan forum to ensure that the connection we’ve built — one centered on smart, respectful, and passionate discussion about Oregon sports — continues without interruption. This new home will carry the same DNA as both the Casanova Center and First Duck Club forums, all under a single banner called Flock Talk. As always, our two main rules remain unchanged: no politics, no religion.
I will continue to bring you the same in-depth, original content that has become the hallmark of our coverage. That means weekly editions of The Inside Read, Wednesday War Room, Flock Talk, and Sunday Morning Sidewalk, along with full Commit Impact and Scouting Reports for every Oregon football commitment. If you're used to the pace and style of my work — nothing's slowing down. In fact, the goal is to increase both volume and depth.
This move isn’t about separating from a brand — it’s about leaning fully into our own. Duck Sports Central will be shaped by the voices that have built it — ours. It's a place for the kind of coverage that stays true to the Oregon fan experience. We’re keeping it personal, local, and obsessive about the Ducks.
I’ve said it before and it remains true: this is a passion project. I will still work my day job, but this site is a labor of love, one that I believe still has room to grow. That growth means bringing in people who share that same commitment. My plan is to add contributors who aren’t just here to write — but to help build. Our success will be tied directly to our ability to invest in the community, the content, and the people who care most about Oregon athletics.
While the name on the masthead has changed, the mission has not. We’ll continue to chase information, provide thoughtful analysis, and dive deep into recruiting — not with surface-level takes, but with context, background, and relationships that have taken years to cultivate.
We will also keep the tradition of tailgates, postgame thoughts, and — down the road — launch new features like podcasts, sponsorship-driven content, and additional media partnerships. This is a long game, and we’re just getting started.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. I’ve never taken that for granted. It’s your passion, your insights, and your presence that have made this a community worth preserving. Duck Sports Central exists because of you.
See you on the boards.
— Scott
