It has been a rough August and September for a large swat of the nation. Hurricanes have flooded cities in Texas, Louisiana, Florida and the Caribbean; wildfires have forced college teams to relocate practice and high school teams to cancel games due to poor air quality.
Now another hurricane threatens Puerto Rico.
Hurricane Maria “rapidly” intensified and slammed into the Caribbean island of Dominica as a powerful category 5 hurricane late Monday evening.

Fantasy Nightmares
Monday Night Football saw Odell Beckham, Jr. make his return to the field for the New York Giants - and it came out yesterday that plenty of fantasy owners 'harass' him about his return. He is a fantasy owners dream because he is consistent and really impacts most games.
No offense. I could care less about ur fantasy teams. This is my Real Life. Focusing on gettin healthy and gettin better. 1 day at a time.🙏🏽— Odell Beckham Jr (@OBJ_3) September 16, 2017
But there is a bit of a paradox here. The NFL likes that more people will watch their games to keep up on fantasy scores, but it is beginning to get in the way for players - and it opens the door for all kinds of problems.
This is not the first time a player has talked about fantasy owners haranguing them about their status. During the early part of last season, as Rob Gronkowski was recovering froma training camp hamstring injury, he reported that "I can't even go to the grocery store without getting yelled at" about his lack of productivity.
In their quest for more viewers, the NFL kind of brought this on themselves; but it is the players who pay the price.
Beckham, by the way, played well despite his Giants losing to Detroit. The quarterback play on both sides was tremendous; but somehow, it might seem odd that there are fans more upset by Beckham's lack of touchdowns than the Giants loss. Strange times indeed.
